Lin Gerkman (b. 1995, Ljubljana) is a visual artist based in Slovenia. His multidisciplinary practice is grounded in photography, archival research, and field exploration, and often takes the form of spatial installations. His work investigates transitional periods in contemporary history, focusing on the residual traces left by shifting political, economic, and social structures. Through the assemblage of found imagery, industrially produced objects, and layered archival material, he constructs dense visual networks that reveal the entanglements between personal narratives, historical events, and systems of power. His practice probes the tension between private experience and institutional authority, uncovering the poetic potential within lived realities shaped by capital, state control, and mass media. He has exhibited in solo and group shows in Austria, Australia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Serbia and Slovenia.
